Putting rings and bearing in a 1999 5.9 Magnum for use in a 88 D250. I am reusing the stock camshaft with newer set of roller lifters.
I put the camshaft in and started to degree it, got a Center Line of 117 degrees...Did not think that was correct, advanced the cam and it is now sitting at 109....
Next thing I check the gross lift on the lobe and it measured .274 ...times 1.6 gives me .438 lift at the valve...
I thought these oem cams had a lift around .400 at the valve...
this 5.9 came out of 99 Durango with just over 100k miles..the intake manifold was sucking oil.
And anyone have the duration at .050 for these cams....I got 217 at .050 with the degree wheel....just trying to figure out if my numbers are correct so I can put the timing chain cover on...
