Here is a possible build on the cheap that I haven't seen done yet.
400 block, 4.375 bore.
Steel 383 crank offset ground to 3.54 stroke using 2.2 journals for 426 cubes. I did some checking some time ago and If memory serves me right there is a 6.8 chev rod/shelf stock flat top piston that works. I couldn't think of a better combo for a dedicated bracket guy for a couple of reasons. Very cheap build. Moderate torque which compliments the 2.45 low in the torqueflite for good solid consistent runs. Enough cubes to make serious power up top.
