Hardened Seats and Never Look Back!!!!!
Just my opinion.

73 the year
and not knowing ow many valve jobs always go seats
I like the premium dura-bond seats
Dura bond bought the seat maker who was out of WA state- do not remember the name but we did a bunch of seat tests and they proved tops over the nickel alloy seats which are still better than old exhaust tubeing
(chrome moly is meaningless)

But with that rust on the seating surface it will need one............
It totally your call and if your cam don't require much much more spring pressure then stock, well, these are all plusses.

You could also just add leaded racing fuel to your tank, say a gal a tank full for a while or something like that to make them happy again.

Still recommend hardened seat. but there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Go buy some elgin 11/32 stem+.100 2.02/1.60 for a buck and get a valve job done. Then let's see what it looks like.
Short looks untouched atm.

I actually have a set of 11/32 intake valves. They are 5.040 in length. That’s what I was trying to put in my speed master heads and they are .029 thou longer than the exhausts which are 5.011. Kim

I put 11/32 1.96 intake valves in mine with just a bowl job they went 247+ @ .550 lift.

“If it were me”...... they’d get hardened ex seats installed.

And I’d put the 2.02’s in.
Me too , ^^^^^^^^^^^
Looks like the orig owner was going to have the bigger intakes put in , then rework the under valve area , to match the exhausts.

Just cut the stem down, Its only .018....
You have no problem, take'em to a machine shop and have them installed.

a lot of the .018 could be in a thicker head or the margin
put them in the head and then measure height
