/6 engine removal with hood in place?

-
I've often wondered what would happen if I called an Escort service in the middle of the night. When they showed up, I'd ask them to help me bleed the brakes, remove a hood, line up a engine mount, etc. I mean I'm paying by the hour and the fluids from an old A body can't be any worse than what they are used to dealing with, right?
I'll send my wife over. She has been very helpful.

The four more bolts is not a problem. It's the I'm missing the guy to pick up other side of hood.
One of my pals used a bicycle hoist to hold the hood up while he moved the car. Don’t remember the details.

You can use a cherry picker to remove the engine without removing the hood in a car (A body) by removing the Head and manifolds first. Then use the head bolt holes with shorter 7/16 bolts and a chain on your cherry picker!
To remove the entire assembled engine, the hood will have to come off or take it out the bottom. If removing from the top O suggest removing the bellhousing and pressure plate, Flyhweel removed will give you more wiggle room too in an A body.
