A guy on phoenix craigslist has a 63 valiant that he says is a 67, I e-mailed him and told him it was not a 67 but a 63 and he replied that I don't know what I am talking about. I am not good on a computer so could somebody paste it here and tell the guy he is full of it . The ad number is 4857652950 he calls it cudiant ?

Like I said he said it was a 67 which I and you know it is not, then he tells me that I don't know what I am talking about what a idiot. I wish somebody else would e-mail him and tell him he is full of it.:violent1:
 
not a 67 they stopped putting torsion bar hood springs on in 1966, looks like he is trying to flip the car for major profit; I know some beautiful looking cars for $20K
 
I don't think a 64/65 Cuda front end will fit correctly on a 67 Valiant. It defiantly has a Cuda front on Valiant just not a 67.
But overall the car looks good.
 
nothing 67 about the car except in the ad , maybe some emblem somewhere , 63 valiant with a barracuda clip-- cool idea & looks ok, would have to be exceptional for that coin. Lawrence
 
Want to talk about another idiot on phoenix craigslist there is a 63 dart conv. that the guy put a big block chevy in it and it is about halfway complete and he wants $6500 for it. Good luck selling it.
 
I did get a response & wonder how you can sell that car?

further investigation it has a 1965 Barricuda front end and a 1963 Valiant rear-end making it a very special one of a kind car. The VIN shows 1963, but the car was titled as 1967 when it was built in California. I don't usually own this kind of car but I took it on a trade. As i mentioned the title says 1967 ( in Calif I believe they title the car in the year it is built, but I am not sure) . Since it has been so customized with different years, I guess you call it a custom or special edition. I have updated the ad with this information. We do have a clear title that says 1967 Plymouth. it has to go through the VIN inspection - the VIN on the car matches the VIN on the title and is the original VIN on the drivers door post.

not sure how that would fly at the DMV? this would just be like titling a kit car perhaps?

I don't quite understand the point in harassing someone over an add unless you are a potential buyer.Are you trying to show how much you know or what? If your not interested just move on.:banghead::banghead:
 
If the title for the car is a 67 then it has no title and has been retagged the wrong year...which is illegal. It should have a 63 title for the chassis. Still a cool looking car

because this guy is selling something that isn't legal, a 1967 title for a 1963-65 car that is a mix matched parts

And you know that for an absolute fact, many states title "kit cars" in the year they are built.....even if....so what... are we the Craigs List police or something:protest:

I am not the craigslist police but try to help people when they list something wrong ,as a matter of fact I got a e-mail from him thanking me for the information.

Could very easily be a DMV clerical error. Having recently gone through the hassle of registering an out of state car in CA, I can tell you it's no picnic.

its not an error, he replyed to a member here saying the car was a 1965 titled as a 1967, its illegal to sell something like that

Only illegal if it was intentionally titled as a 67. If it was a clerical error, just chalk it up to human error. Did the seller explain the back story as to why it is titled as a 67 or did they just say it was titled as a 67 and leave it at that?

For instance, when I had the form filled out for a VIN verification on my Valiant by a police officer, my car was accidentally titled as a hardtop, when it is actually a sedan. No deception was intended, just a mistake.

We need the back story before we crucify the seller.

Sounds like a car that was salvaged, rebuilt and retitled in 1967. Or possibly brought into CA in 1967. You used to be able to buy salvage title cars in CA, register them out of state, then bring them back into CA as clean title cars. They stopped allowing that a long time ago.

Whatever is up with the car, "caveat emptor".
 
I don't know what is happening but his latest ad says it is titled as a 63 ???????
