working on 63 dart......I've installed the slant out of 65 b body. got the a body engine brackets and insulators ( same as in my 65 slant dart). this was a roller so its pieced together. the engine sits 1/2 inch or so closer to right side firewall.than the slant iun the 65 dart.... the carb throttle rod , the v shaped deal where the kickdown rod attaches its too close to firewall.
since there is hump at firewall for wiper motor. does the 63 take a different throttle rod?????????? and does it take a different engine bracket insulator to move the engine for an inch or so?????????????
i'd appppreciate any info from 63 guys, got me stumped>>( which isn't that hardf to do!!???) LOL....

you need 63 a body mounting brackets as the b body are not the same i also have a 63 valiant

I located a correct short shaft slant pushbutton tranny. yes I have the a body trans mounting member. I will keep the long shaft tranny for parts.

I have learned the engine mounts ( rubber isuloators) are the same 63-6. yes I have early pan, 65 ebgine. also learned the throttle rod for 63 is different part no than the 64-5. apppearantly the 63 slant will sit closer to firewall than 64-5 dart.
waiting on measurement of 63 throttle rod on parts car.
Oh the thrill of piecing these old cars together!!??? LOL

Yes, I feel for you.
It's like Mopar didn't want too much to interchange too easily!!! lol

Good luck with your project.

Just a suggestion:
If you get bogged down, try the blokes at slant 6 forum they may be able to advise you!

yes! Ausssie Plymouth! don't get me started on lack of mopar interchange!! LOL
looking for one year only part that is 50 years old, paying $$ for it to put on a car not worth squat!!???? ya just got to love that dainged car!?? LOL

There are several 63 cars on ebay being parted out look for the ones with a picture of a car and the description might be a drivers door. These are dealers parting out the cars. Do a search on ebay for 63 Plymouth valiant when you get the results check the used box on the left side of the page and scroll thru and look for the pictures for whole cars read the description and see if their parting out a car. Contact the seller and see if they have what you need.
