64 65 Dart shifter console. What shifter?

Purchased a 64-65 automatic shifter console.

I can install an aftermarket shifter in it, right?

If so, please give me some recommendations.

I installed a B&M cable shifter under one of those. Had to space it up off the floor tunnel about an inch, and needed to notch the shifter handle to fully fit within the consoles slot in park and first. Worked out OK.
BTW, I've got a couple of those consoles for sale @ $60 each if anyone is interested.

I don't ...it was a $20 swap meet shifter and this was a few years ago.
It had a black plastic T handle if that helps

Went with a Hurst Promatic 2 in 65 Dart, had to do some cutting on bracket to make things fit but it turned out pretty good. There's some other threads about this also if you do a search on them, good luck! I switched to a newer 904 tranny and went to a single cable requiring changing shifters. ( Just remembered I had to cut bottom of ash tray off so console would fit over top )

I bought this one for my 66 build and got held up , so I am selling to replace later.

Well , found a NOS new in box B&M Quicksilver today down in Florida and snagged it. Will be in business!!!

I used a B and M Sport Shifter when I changed to a 72 Torqueflite in my 65 Barracuda. It was fairly easy to modify and install.

I used a Pro-Matic 2 also. Now I remember why I dont have a console ashtray! Looks stock 'cept for the Hurst on the handle.

Exactly! lift up my ashtray lid and you'll see shifter under it.
