64 Dart Insulation Sock

Does a 64 Dart 273 engine have this insulation sock on the positive

starter wires? Does it go down at the starter or any where else on the positive battery cable. Not sure if it's for the A- body I am working on. Came all apart in a box of parts.

My 65 Barracuda came with battery cable insulation. It was quit discolored though and mine looks a bit longer than the one in that picture .

I'll try to get a picture tomorrow for you.

The original battery cable would have had a sleeve built onto it. What you show here looks to be an aftermarket or replacement sleeve.

Here is what my battery cable insulation looks like. I slid the original insulation over my new battery cable. This is what I removed from the 273 and I don't think it had been apart before, but then again it's 55 years old...

Here's how it looks at the upper end. It's molded into a rubber collar that wraps tightly around both the battery cable and solenoid wire.
