Hi guys, hope all is well. It's time to ditch the rollers for some more permanent wheels (crager eliminators), and I'm wondering what the best offset is for stock wheel wells on my 65'. Was wanting to maybe run a 7" wheel in the rear, and a 6" in the front, but I'm not sure which offset I should go with. Thanks for the help guys!

I'm running 14x8 cragars in the back of my 65 barracuda with 4.25 backspace. Fronts are 14x7 and I can't remember the backspace for the fronts. But with the backs I could run a 245/60/14 but would rub with passengers. Has 235/60/14 now and no rubbing. Fronts I've ran anywhere from a 185- 215/60/14 with no issues

where are you finding these honking 14's?

I'm running 14 x 6 on the front with 4 inch back space running 205/70/14 [was running 235/60/14s rubbed at full lock] rear running 14 x 7 with 4 1/4 back space with 245/60/14s plus this car is lowered 2 1/2 front and 3 1/2 rear with no rubbing.

Thanks for the info guys. Will run staggered sizes, and wheels will be the Crager Eliminators, but haven't decided on full polished or grey centers, will order this week.

If you are asking me, they are Wheel Vintiques from Summit the centers are second hand ones [not really that great] and trim rings from Coker tire which are new.

What color is your car going to be? I do like the grey center, I think they would look nice on a Burgundy colored car.

It's the original red. Almost all back together now. Holley f.i. on the way and some other goodies then it'll be good to go.

Wow looking good novaCuda. I think the grey centered wheels will look awesome on her.

The trim and chrome look like brand new.

If you want to run the biggest tire you can without doing a mini tub,Get some offset spring hangers, then you can run a 15"x8" rim with 4 7/8ths back space then you can run a 275 tire.

I bought my cragars through discound tire back in 2003 with some bfgs. Cost me $1k then. They don't make the 14x8s anymore
Im asking about the tires. Seems 14's are about dead unless they are 215 or under.

Last set was a used tire shop. The 245/60/14 bfg ta I got awhile ago 10+ years at discount tire. Summit racing has a few if I recall

Sorry but i need to ask you, are you using a sbp or bbp on your 8 3/4? Thanks Gilberto.

I have BFG T/A G60/14 bias on 7" at the rear, with 8-3/4" tread. I put these on 30+ years ago. Wheels put on 40 yrs. ago when installed 8-3/4 rear. Problem is replacing with comparable 15" radial with same tread width. Plan is Moser axles with BBP.

Right... And that is because of the standout....
A-body SBP standout is 2.25" and BBP is 2.500".
Your next custom wheels would need more back space...
Thanks for the help

Howdy folks. It's been a while but I finally decided on the Rocket Racing Strike wheels. They look SO much better in person, and they really, really match the lines of the car. I'm pretty happy.

Installing a Holly Terminator F.I. kit and EFI tank right now so I'll show another pic once I get it back on the ground.
