Sanity check, please. When I'm driving, the brake pedal feels way too high relative to the accelerator pedal. Thoughts?

It may be the camera angle, but the gas pedal looks way low to me. It looks matted almost. Is that the way it is at rest?

3rd-ed, the skinny pedal looks super low. you even getting full pull on the carb with that?
so that may be part of the problem.
some more detail on the brakes of the car could shed some light on the (possible) problem with the height of the brake pedal. especially if it's not stock or some recent work has been performed.
anyway, to me, it doesn't look excessively high.

No recent work, but also the car's new to me and I have no historical info. I don't believe the brakes are original, it has a dual-reservoir master cylinder, but under the dash everything looks original - pedal placement, brake light switch, etc. I am able to get full throttle on the carb. I can try for some more pics today.
