I'm working on my '65 Dart's front brakes. It has 10" drums and I'm trying to find out the proper width of the brake shoes. Are they 2-1/2" or 2-1/4" wide. The service manual only gives the specs for 9" wheels. The only other info I can find is for a Coronet at 2-1/2" and a Barracuda at 2-1/4". Any advice would be appreciated. Thnx!

Barracuda, Valiant, Dart, all the same brake specs and options for any given year. 10" × 2-1/4" front, 10" × 1-3/4" rear. Assuming your service manual is a factory service manual, it must be a very early print; 10" drums became officially available on the A-bodies for '65.

Rock auto is great... But if you shop local auto parts stores... You'll confuse the youngster behind the counter if you tell him/her that you have a 65 Dart with 10 inch drums... Just say You have a 69 Dart Swinger 340.... Same 10 inch brakes... drums & shoes... I've done this many times⚓
