'65 dart/ four speed driveshaft same as automatic?

Hey guys, I found a guy who has an 833 from a '64 dart with the same ball and trunion style output as my '65 gt with an automatic has. Does anyone know if the driveshaft lengths are the same, or will I have to have mine shortened?

The best part is, the guy wants $75 bucks for it, says he had the cover off it and everything looks good. But even if it needs a rebuild kit, I'll still only have $200 or so in it

It should be the same as long as you have a 904. The 904 & 3/4 speeds are the same length from head to tail. I'd still measure from outter/front bellhousing to tail end

Well, I went down to Atlanta and picked the 4 speed up yesterday. He had the cover off, it looked perfect inside. I'll probably at least replace the seals inside, might go ahead and just do the full rebuild if I can figure out how

Yes it is the same shaft. It will be a direct swap.

I have a dumb question. On my '65, I don't see a place on the firewall where the pedal to z bar rod goes through. On my '72 I had there was a body plug over a hole for the rod. IIRC yes you need the plate that you posted the link to.
