i have for sale a 1965 plymouth valiant 200 4 door with a freshened 1953 241 red ram hemi swapped in, has a powerflite 2 spd tranny
the body is in good shape for the most part other than a small rust spot on pass rear quarter and it needs floor boards.. car has been lowered and has a nice hemi rat rod stance.

I bought my 241 Red Ram (running) for $500. My buddy has a Super Red Ram in his '55 Custom Royal Lancer, and even with bigger cubes, and a 4-barrel....it's still a pig!

They only put out about as much horsepower as a built-up Ford flathead V8 when they are in stock form.

Next to a Chrysler...and even a Desoto hemi, they are physically a lot smaller as well.

just found this... hey thats my car lol.. still for sale

Couldn't you just put some bigger torsion bars in it.........get the cool look and probably some mileage too. I've got a 241 Hemi too in a 54 2 ton truck. Thought about building it and putting in something for mileage. I like those old motors myself.

I had a 56 Dodge "Custom Royal Golden Lancer D-500" with the 315 Hemi 4bbl 2 speed power-flite auto that ran very well-pissed off many mustang owners with their dates in the car.

Yeah...the 315 is a different animal than the 241/270's...

I have a Chrysler 331 with two-2bbls on an Edmunds intake and open headders in a '29 Model A....It is pretty fast.

The 241 is definately nothing to brag about, with around 140 hp and a 2spd behind it, it is no speed demon... But with the 2 barrel and highway gears it seems to get pretty decent fuel mileage and makes for a cool cruiser. The reason I'm trying to get rid of this car is to move onto something a little more different, I plan on building my own custom of some sort. Im having a hard time selling it though.. I feel my price is more than fair, wat do u think?

It's hard to sell a 4-door....unless it's to a very casual car enthusiest, and those people usually want a nice appearing (meaning painted/upholstered/etc) car that they can hop in and drive.

I think it is a fair price....but to a limited market. I could see a young guy just getting into cars wanting it, but he has to see the ad first.

Hang in there...it takes a while for the right buyer to find the car then come up with the money.
