Nice job on the car! Your wife's family appreciates the end result I'm sure.

Other than the dual MC, did you upgrade the brakes?

I have a 64 v-200 vert with a 225. I repainted the engine compt, rebuilt the engine and cleaned/painted everything underneath but the exterior and interior are in survivor state. At least for this season. Entered in Carlisle and driving it there. Hope to see you there.

I will check out your car too at Carlisle. Love early A verts!

Thanks, I rebuilt the brakes and redid all of the suspension except leaf springs...they are still on the to do list. And I am still rolling on front drum brakes

I went to the Goodguys show in Des Moines over the 4th of July weekend, saw a lot of great cars and stumbled across a vendor selling finished bumpers and they had front and back for my vert at a great price. I picked them up and drove them home in a rented minivan....they ran from the front seats to the back and the kids sat beside them the whole ride back...lol. They never complained and were happy for me...can't beat that!

Gotta tell you, I bought my 65 Valiant convertible as a parts car, but your project make me want to do a restoration on the car. Your car looks just plain GREAT. Nice job. Old Dart 66

Tommorrows the day, I'm changing the oil, putting the battery back in and starting her up. She's been asleep since October.....Cinco de mayo is convertible de funno day

I think the wheel and tire combo you chose is the perfect compliment to that body style. Nicely done.

Steve, the car looks really good! Now that the weather is breaking I'll bet you're anxious to get it out and about.
I looked through this thread and have a few questions if you don't mind.
How did you strip the original paint?
You stated the wheels are 17 x 7.5, did you use wheel adaptors or are the wheels SBP?
Thanks!

Hello, thanks!
I stripped the paint down with a grinder and wire wheel, then used rust converter where needed, epoxy primer, urethane primer, then paint

For the wheels, I used adapters

Wow great job! , amazing work you did congrats, I just bought a 65 convert signet
