How do you differentiate a 235 horse 273 from a 275 horse D-Dart engine

Holley carb, Racer brown cam, Doug's Headers. All were 4-speeds. Unless you have some pretty reliable history on the particular engine, it's probably pretty safe to assume it isn't an original (there weren't many, and they were built to be raced).

There was a guy at Fall Fling selling a complete repo D/Dart intake package. Intake which was bored out to spec, correct spacer and the correct numbers matching Hemi carb. He wanted $700 for the complete setup. The carb alone is worth $700

This is what the stampings on the front of a D/Dart block will look like. The Holley carb list number is 3778.

The D/Dart intake PN is 2536771. The carb spacer looks like it was an inhouse machined piece of aluminum. Here's a shot of the correct Holley carb.
