hey guys.I have a 1966 dodge dart 273 4 brl car. It has disc brakes in front, i have got new rotors, and some other things. Now im stumped. Do any of u guys know if there is a difference in the disc brake master cly? as apposed to the regular setup? Im looking thru Napa for a new master cly, but they only list a 1 inch bore single drum brake setup. As well as a power setup. Can someone help me on the org master cly part number? It is a single reservoir unit but it has a extra chunk ontop? sorry i dont mean to sound like a idiot i just wanna order the right stuff. thanks brake gurus...

The disk brake master cylinder was a special single pot with a larger capacity. It had a raised cap and looked different than the standard MC. You might try and use a MC for the 67 manual disk brake and use a distribution block. Check with Classic Industries

Call the ram man, He specializes in brake systems and will tell you what you need to run. I would recommend going to a dual reservoir master for safety. He sells brake systems and parts.

In Australia, with a 66 model Valiant, with disc brakes, they had a single MC, but, had a remote booster for the front.
The brand of brakes used here on Valiants were PBR.

The larger reservoir MC would be hard to find at a regular parts place. If you don't care to be original, there are many options. I have a 2-bolt alum dbl reservoir MC on all my old Mopars. The only difference in MC's for disks is a bigger reservoir. Most people find a 15/16" or 7/8"D bore best for manual disk brakes.

Unless the OP is dead set on keeping his 1966 Dart 100% original; I'd install a 1967-78 Dart/Aspen manual disc brake cylinder with matching proportioning valve/hard lines and call it a day. The firewall 'footprint' and pushrod are identical. Note; I've done two drum to disc swaps on 1966 down A bodies; one ca. 1987. :blob:

IIRC I got the master cylinder rebuild kit I used in my 66 Dart GT from Kanter in Boonton, NJ. A single piston MC is easy to safely rebuild.
