66 dart trunk improvement ideas (or waiting on paint to dry)

-
Since I'm waiting on money and parts to arrive I decided that it was ok to continue work on the trunk . I found some nice mixed brown tweed cloth that I'm going to put in/on the trunk panels. Then I decided to (if I ever take it to a car show) let people know it ain't a falcon.
here some work in progress.

here I'm drawing out the letters and getting ready to cut em out

front view of the 6's hmm not to bad, still have to stretch it a little more in the sharp curves. and I'll re smooth/glue the sides with a heat gun to make it flow better on the curves.

here what it looks like in the car. I still have to wrap the letters and make mounting holes for then but it does look good to me!

I just finished up vinyl covering letters.
"Hint to self" do not make letters with sharp corners, they are a bear to cover.
ok now with that being said I did exactly that, yup sharp corners.

here's the panels installed and waiting on me to sew up some pull handles to add so I can take the panels off if needed. I used those trim fasteners under the cloth to mount the panels into the trunk, it makes for a clean install.

ya know I'm hoping people can read if I go to a show and pop the trunk . I hate em calling it a cool falcon convertible.

I forgot to sew on the pull handles and now have to pry the panels off when I get the handles sewn up and ready to go on. it was a DUH! moment. sorry. I was just so excited about getting the letters done that I just had to see what it looked like and then it hit me, "no handles to open the panel" :banghead:
