'66 Gas Tank Pad

I have most of what I need to install my new gas tank. Wondering if I need some kind of adhesive for the pad that goes on top of the tank and if so what kind?

I didn't use any if I remember correctly. You could use 3M spray adhesive. That would work well. You just need something to keep the edges from flapping around. The center is sandwiched between the tank and the trunk pan.
