so im going to be replacing the radiator in my valiant.
when I do that should I replace the old cast iron water pump with the newer style?
its a cruiser and my concern is the older cast iron water pump wont be readily available in a pinch. will I be able to use my current alternator bracket & pulleys?

figure now is the time to change this as I believe the outlet is on the other side.

You will need to change your timing cover as well. then the timing marks will be on wrong side, need newer style balancer, I dont see a issue with cast iron pump in the future. they are available everywhere. Get a spare for the future.

I probably should have mentioned it has a newer style timing cover.
its actually a 95 magnum motor with the 70's style timing cover and the older cast water pump. for some reason I was thinking that older pump was harder to find.
I see several parts houses have them listed now.
