what is the difference between a 180HP 273 ENGINE COMPARED TO THE 245HP 273....and if the block casting# is different from one to the other..engine is out of a 1966 valiant

Biggest difference is in the pistons and hotter cam.
yup 10.5 to 1 dome top pistons, slightly hotter cam, dual point distributor, and 4 brl Carter AFB. The chrome unsilenced air cleaner, wrinkle finish valve covers, and fender badges are cosmetic parts of the complete commando package, along with a resonator in the exhaust.
The Commando engine should have 273-4 on it.

That is also one of the prettiest mopar engines ever imho.
I agree but all that pretty carries a hefty premium. If I added up what I've spent gathering a complete commando package I'd be ashamed to admit it. The wife would faint LOL

Yup pretty aint cheap.
Nope. Same cost to rebuild (except for the pistons). It just depends how correct you want it to be. toolmanmike
