Hi just wondering what you recommend for synthetic oil for 1967 Dart GT 383 for normal street use.

I'm not sure what i have read or what, but i think in that case I'd use regular oil. Synthetic is for new cars with new seals. If it's been recently rebuilt, sure. But if not, synthetic may be to penetrating and believe it or not - to slippery ? I've heard oil leaks ?

This is what I've heard as well. Synthetic oil is best suited for new cars with newer engines. Regular oil is best for older cars with older engines.

I couldnt live without synthetic oil regardless of condition of seals/gaskets, yes it does like to find a place to leak out of, I just fix the leaks and keep right on trucking !!!

I highly recommend Joe Gibbs Driven HR-4 Synthetic oil 10W30.

Great oil formulated exactly for what our older pushrod engines need, with a rust inhibitor used in the Military.

They also have a synthetic 15W50. HR-1

hate to threadjack, but what do we suggest for a flat tappet cammed 360?

Same oil

Amsoil Z-Rod oil all the way. Has high zinc content for flat tappet cams and rust inhabitanters

I ran Mobil 1 15/50 for years and years in my DD, got a wild hair last summer to switch it to 10/40....Man what a difference that made. I used Mobil 1 in my Harley the switched it over to Amsoil....another massive difference.
