Hi all, no idea why but both doors on our 69 vert are "hacked" see pics. Also bottom leading edge us rotted thru. I have an extra set of 67 fastback doors that are really solid. I know of 4 differences in 67 vs 69.
67- 1. exterior arm burner trim
2. Door lock hole
3. Lower plastic door vent hole.
4. Behind the interior door panel there are a couple mounting bolts(not sure for what yet, probably door linkage bracket bolts maybe) that appear different than 69.
The 67 doors are super solid. Should I change them over to 69?
I've tried to include pics pointing out differences. Am i missing any?
I am aware of the glass/regulator differences.
White door is the 69. Blue is 67
Thanks all

Go with the 67 doors... They have the lock knob moved back so it's easier to hang your elbow on the door edge and look cool as you cruise by the chicks....

You gotta give them the 'casual elbow' when you drive by... :steering:

The 69 knob location hinders the hanging elbow and gets you right in the funny bone....

the wedge piece with 2 screws you are pointing at is for convertibles. There may another piece that goes with it on the door post.

67’s have a different vent window adjustment

I didn’t know 69 barracuda’s don’t have vents on bottom of door. Good to know.

Lol, good points Karl! The 67s are really solid. I guess I should take the paint of the bottom edge of the 69 to see how bad. That hack job was probably for hauling dope.. I'm planning on doing the welding myself:BangHead:. Not sure I could do a good enuf job with that part.

Yes the vent window adjustments are different but I believe it's an ez fix/change(I think). 67 is a long chrome screw thru door, and 68 up is the hole with plastic plug and allen head bolt. Weird how this blue door has the arm burner trim(67 only i think) as well as rear most door lock knob. But it has plastic plug like 68/9.
Yes those vert pieces I have for the door jamb as well.
Thanks!

I'm sure Steve has "Cruising Chicks" foremost on his mind. Without hijacking the thread, could someone tell me the difference between a FB door and a vert door. They look the same to me.

Have you seen the films on YouTube called Fitzee's Fabrication? He has about 20-20 videos on rust repair, patching, welding and making patch panels. I have learned a lot. Give them a try. I bet he has one that will exactly fit your needs.

If the doors are within the same year, there are few differences.
In my last pic(pointing at white door), I'm pointing at a small "wedge". That's specific to verts only. There is another piece that attaches to the door jamb that is for verts also.
Glass will be specific to the body style. I'm not 100% sure on regulatorsif they are different or not.
I'll check out the YouTube channel Mike.
Thanks!

Shame you can't find a good used set for the '69. Those '67's are good back ups for your '67.

If what you refer to as "arm burner" trim the is belt molding... Any convertible has a similar molding around the top well. If your vert didn't have complete belt molding that well trim has a final/end piece. Those with belt molding had a different transition piece that connected the top well molding to the belt molding at the quarter window. Belt moldings from below a fast back quarter window wont work on a vert but those moldings from a notch back can be cut to fit to the vert transition piece.

I can’t remember seeing a 67-69 without belt molding.

Are the 1/4 window stainless pieces different belt molding vs non-belt molding?

Someone got a picture of a barracuda non-belt molding?

I dont know if I still have a pic here somewhere but... the 68 notch I owned did come with rocker spears and gills, wheel opening moldings, and vinyl top with all that trim, but did not get the belt moldings. There were all sorts of trim combinations.
I dont know what quarter window stainless piece you refer to.

My 69 door is not orig paint(obviously) but has no trim. Working today, but I'll get some pics of the exterior.

I was thinking of these prices. But I guess they could just leave them off.

Seems like I’ve seen them on every 67-69 barracuda. Especially fastback cause the 1/4 window molding rises up to meet the drip rail molding.

this is the notchback ones

here’s the fastback ones

I hear what you're saying, but those are for the 1/4 windows. I have similar trim for my 69 vert.
I've seen quite a few cuda doors without belt mldg.
In 6th and 7th pics above(finger pointing) you can see one of the differences I mentioned previously. Not zackly sure what that's about.
Heres my 69.
Thanks guys.

I googled 69 barracuda convertible and dont see any with belt moulding on the doors.
I agree George would be nice to hang onto "jic", but I need to thin stuff out and make progress on YOUR 69 lol.

Thanks Karl, not sure how the cross border bs would work and shipping would be horrific.
Thanks tho!
I may have a 69 door, I'll have to look later....
