I have a 67 that needs a new core can someone give me instructions on how to do it?

Any service manual will be a more accurate source of information. Good luck

I got the full service manual for my '68 Barracuda at RockAuto.com for around $50. Give them a try.

I just did mine, but I had the heater box on the bench. I would suggest just
dropping the heater box from the firewall so you can get to all of the clips
that hold the halves together. 4 nuts in the engine compartment around the
heater motor and 1 support rod on the passenger side that holds the box up to
the fresh air intake. When you get ready to put the support rod back in,
there is a nut on the bottom of the box. Loosen it quite a bit to make the
hook longer. After you get the support rod hooked on top of the large air intake
hole, tighten the nut on the bottom to draw the box up tight.

You could probably loosen that nut to drop the box down in the removal.
I didn't do that when I took mine out...didn't know it was there. I just
pushed the complete box up and unhooked it.

The shop manual shows this:

Hope this helps

Thanks Larry....it was still fresh in my mind.

A year from now I won't remember a thing about it. Age does that to a guy!

You may want to consider getting a gasket/rebuild kit from Detroit Muscle Technologies (DMT), If you are going to go as far as changing out the heater core, you might as well do the whole thing right and make sure everything is sealed.

In my Dart, when I changed out just the heater core, and did nothing else, It always leaks hot air. One of these days (when I finish my 67 Barrcuda), I am going to pull the box in the Dart again and do it right.
