I can get clip locations off my 68 notch this evening. ebay, rtspecialties and others have the clips.
One more thing you should know. When these clips are not covered by mouldings , fairly sharp edges are exposed. They can eat up a wash cloth and possisbley cut a finger.
Redfish, You are always so right on when it comes to windshields!
Stan, Here is a pic of the clips. They can usually be found at any place that mixes paint and has paint & body supplies. Also can get at NAPA, etc..
I am now in the middle of a fight with my insurance company about the wifes windshield on her 67 Dart. As far as the 67 Dart 4 door, EVERYTHING about the front windshield is year specific and I assume it is the same for the 67 Barracuda. Prior to 67 they had gasket and chrome plastic "D" shaped lockstrip.
67 had gasket, lockstrip shaped like an "F" chrome plastic (now comes in back too. The chrome corners are on Ebay for $16.95 each and is the only place I found them. The ONLY place I know of that has the right lock strip (NOS) is Stephens Mopar, $225.00 + shipping (That's why it's been 6 weeks to replace windshield, INS Co. didn't want to pay for lockstrip) Have only found just a handful of places that had the windshield "DW 691" I have found them in both clear and tinted, you'll pay more for clear. Have heard of a "ZIP" gasket that uses it's own "flap" to fold over & loack it self, haven't seen one and I did not order one. I have only found 2 gaskets for 67. Precision has a prototype sent to corporate for testing and going onto production. The otherone (NOS) that I found, my glass shop better have purchased friday or I'll be waiting for a couple of months for prcision to start production.
I have heard you can use 68/69 gaskets without the reveal molding but would have gap between gasket and auto body. All the lockstrip style gaskets have a little space between gasket and body. It was explained to me it just wouldn't look as clean.
If you go with the reveil moldings 68 & up with clips, Good luck alot of work, if the car didn't have them before. The proper 67 parts were extremly hard to locate took me 3 weeks, 5 days a week, 10 hour days, on phone and internet to find. Good Luck!:happy7:
