67 cuda: 22 to 26 inch radiator swap

Looking for some advice about changing from the stock 22 inch radiator to an aluminum 26 inch radiator in a 67 Barracuda. I'm going from a 273 to a 500 ci stroked 400 block. I'll be widening the opening in the radiator support by 4" to accommodate the wider core. I'd like to use the aluminum radiator and electric fan(s) to save weight on this street performance build.

Please share with me what setups have worked well for you. I live in Texas, so I will need some serious cooling power. I will be running AC and a separate oil cooler, and the car might occasionally be stuck in traffic on 100+ degree, humid days. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that I will be using a transmission cooler too, so I will cap off the transmission cooler lines into the radiator.

I put a Dakota radiator in mine, worked out pretty well.

Bottom line......... the Biggest help to the cooling was to put the Factory rubber hood seal back in place.
It keeps the engine heat from being drawn back over the top of the core support and thru the radiator.
