My intent was to see if it would be possible to replace the mirror in a 67 Dart Day/Night mirror.
The first thing I noticed was the housing was crimped to the mirror.
I started out trying to streighten out the crimp but mostly I just stretched the crimped edge.
I was finally able to get the glass out in one piece, I did chip the corners more than they already were.
After the glass was out there was a black (on one side and it looks more black than the photo looks) piece of paper or thin card board
Next was another piece of thin card board, a bit thicker than the first but the same color on both sides.
Then the housing with the Day/Night mechanism.
The function is pretty streight forward. Flip the lever and the entire mirror tilts a bit. Hard to see but the post ball socket is at a slightly different angle
