Yes it is a 67 Manual steering. Column shiftI honestly can't tell what's going on at the end of that piece.
Where the plastic bearing slides on, the smaller diameter section, yours appears to be longer and has a metal ring, the thing you cut through.
Also, on mine the plastic bearing is not 2 different diameters like yours, and the spring is between the plastic bearing and the inner column collar.
Is yours from a 67 manual column?

At the lower end of a steering shaft is a pin tightly pressed in. Just above that is a pretty weld bead all the way around. Right there is the difference between a manual steering shaft and a power steering shaft. That end piece that is welded in/on is about 3 inches shorter for power steering ( the weld is much closer to the pin ).Anyone know if a power steering inner column can be modified, cut I guess, to either use, or just use the lower portion of the shaft?
