Description from them.....

Kit contains...one new lower steering column bearing, collar with set screw, & spring kit. This collar provides tension on the lower column bearing. These parts are brand new USA made in North Carolina. The kit comes with a new lower bearing and support, new collar PN 2880 014, correct new spring PN 2880 226, and new correct square head set screw PN 455 700. These are usually rusted beyond reuse or missing alltogether. On many applications this part is directly under the Master Cylinder and brake fluid drips on the bearing & collar and rust will destroy it in short order. This kit is new on the market This item will not fit 68-69 applications.

Would really like to know if anybody has used this???
 
Oops, I put the lock collars in the wrong place in the pic, the new one is the one with the longer locking screw. It is pretty close to the original.
The spring is identical and the same tension as the original.
The new white plastic support comes with the bearing pressed into it. The bearing isn’t a mast type like the original.
The original bearing comes apart in about five pieces. I think the spring existed to help keep those pieces pressed together as it was sandwiched between the bottom of the bearing and the top of the lock collar. I don’t really see why a spring is needed with the new support and bearing. Any thoughts on this from anyone?

I got this bearing today off Ebay. Got lucky it was in Ontario Canada.
Said he had 2 but couldnt find one of them. Just one.
Hope it works for my 67 floor shift. Ive never done a column before.

Let us know how it works. Our 67 columns are quirky so I am hoping the kit works on my column shift. I emailed
CJ questions and he was prompt with his responses.

68, Did you see the need for the spring between the bearing and the lock collar? I think originally the spring served to keep pressure on the old style mast bearing but I don’t see the need for it with the bearing in the kit that’s pressed into the white plastic support. What do you think?
 
I believe it keeps pressure on the bearing and white plastic support assembly to keep it in the column tube. The later year column bearing is bolted in. Follow the instructions in the kit or factory service manual.

The 67 plastic support is bolted in as well. I just don’t see the need for the spring with the kit style bearing. The bearing is def not coming out of the tube especially with the lock collar butted right up to it.

Yes the spring generated and maintained tension on the original bearing as it would wear. So the replacement doesn't appear to need the spring tension. What's the harm in installing it?

I can't find a website on the google or anything from CJ on ebay. Do I have to call them to order the kit?
I rebuilt my column some time ago but had a hard time finding a 1"x 2 1/4" insert bearing sized to fit our one year only column so I used a 1x2 and filled the remaining circumference with RTV. It works well enouch but I'd really like to replace it with this kit if I can get one.
Do you mind if I ask how much it cost? @Troub

$79....not cheap but it solved the 67 only issues and I can move on to the rest of the column rebuild so worth it in my opinion. I have that pic of their card in my first few posts. Just call or email if you are having trouble finding. CJ was very responsive via email on EBAY when the kit was listed there a few weeks ago.
 
Just ordered one up.
CJ got right back to me via email.
He really appreciates our business.
 
I have been on the hunt for a 67-only lower column bearing kit and tried to contact Mr. Lane who is mentioned as a source in post #3. Sadly, it seems he passed away a few years ago. The phone number listed is not working so I’m guessing no one took over the business.
