'68 Barracuda convert windshield lock strip

My coupe has chrome all the way around the windshield as does my fastback. The converts have the lockstrip (with transition chrome molding missing, naturally). Is there a chrome replacement available for the lockstrip? If so, dioes it require a new gasket and '69 hardware?

The 68 Barracuda convertible is different from the fastback and the notch back.

I have seen several people modify the inside of lower stainless molding and put it in place of the plastic lock strip that peels as well as shrinks. That is what I will be doing on mine.

My 69 vert had the same plastic lockstrip. Im going with notchback/fback trim instead. Change the clips and some slight modifications(body shop doing it)

all converts have the lock strip-- year one sells a replacement style lock strip for this application-- using a convert gasket. Lawrence
