I need a headliner replaced in my 68 Barracuda. Do the windshield and back glass have to be removed? Anyone one ever do one ? Or is this a job best left to the professionals?

I did mine but glass was out already. If I remember correctly Yes but hopefully someone will chime in.

Its much easier with the glass out but it can be done. Seats definitely have to come out as its a nightmare trying to manoeuvre around them.

I already have all the interior out except the headliner which has a few small holes and black tape covering them. The headliner is already bought just trying to figure out the process. Since the cars not running I'm trying to get someone to install in my garage while it's apart OR do it myself??

I've done the notchback headliner 3 times. Its a chore for shore. Start the screws for sun visors, dome lamp, etc., in there holes so you can easily find them again though the new headliner.
The studs sticking out of seat tracks can scar a door panel on the way in or out. The clips that hold the rear seat bottom to floor can eat you knees. I covered those clips with a couple old Valiant hub caps, and heavy blankets on top of those.

Yes, can be done with the glass in. I did mine that way. Just take your time.

Another little tip that just came to mind... There are 2 small metal wires that tether the rear most bow so the headliner doesn't rip away from the anchor teeth under rear window gasket (umbrella headliner is stretched rear to front and left and right). Anyway... They need to end up straight so they look like breast darts in a dress. You will need to stretch the headliner left and right to make it tight, remove wrinkles. So, Go ahead and angle those little wire hooks inward a inch or so from what their other end points in the roof measures so they end up about straight. assembly line workers did the same chore over and over again so they learned how to get it right by practice/trail and error. For us, going back to redo, reposition little hook/holes in a bow sleeve sux. One good thing is, Those 2 little tether wires are the only thing that needs fairly close measurements from center of the headliner. I suppose one could cut slits in this headliner bow sleeve to allow movement but my original headliner didn't have more than a small hole, wire hook poked though. When I did the first one I could not pull the wrinkles from between those two hooks.
