68 barracuda vinyl tops

How common where they? Mine originally had a white one, Im gonna go with a black one. I have never seen any 68's with them, any body know how many did.

only exports had vinyls in 68 (fastback), but they went all the way down around the back window.

I've seen a few notch vinyl roofs here in Canada. One '69 had the mod top. Didn't know that there were none in the US.

Lots of notchbacks have vinyl roofs. Many were sun beat and removed over the years. And lots of people choose not to put them back on when they repaint.

I've seen 69 fastback cudas with vinyl tops.

But you are right. The 1968 sales book says vinyl tops for 68 Hardtop Coupes only.

Here a fairly loaded 68 Barracuda notchback for sale at Fall Fling last Saturday. This car has the somewhat rare Barracuda Sport Special Group. Note, the rear decklid Maroon tape stripe. It doesn't show up very well on a blood red paint car. But it's there between the upper and lower decklid moldings.

Note, the car below should have argent silver paint under the rocker panel "spears".

BTW my Barracuda S is this same two tone interior, white top, but with white sport stripe and dark red (maroon) paint that matches the upper door frame color on the car pictured below.
