'68 Bcuda "NASTY NICK"

The only Nasty Nick I remember was Nasty Nick Varough. I don't remember if he ever drove a Barracuda, but he did drive a Cougar and a Satellite. Those were pretty well known funny cars. He might be your guy, I don't know. You might try lookin him up and see. Can't be too many Nick Varoughs around I wouldn't think. There's also a renowned Nunzi's Automotive in Brooklyn, NY. I see it has a Nunzi sticker on it. Nunzi is a Pontiac guy, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. You might see if he knows anything.

I knew the car and owner well. I think it ran 9:70s single carb 440 I think it also had a dana and super trick wheels the trunk had the guys who worked on the car. I will see if I can get intouch with Nick to see if he can help you out

I owned, built and drove this car for 19 years. I have tried to download photos with no sucess. I converted the photos to.jpg and the files are not too big. Any suggestions?

you will need to resize the pics smaller. Most computers have a program on them that you can use. if you have trouble let us know.

Well after seeing the original car pics i am having second thoughts about selling the car. I've sent Nick a PM and am waiting to hear back from him. As i always thought AWESOME BAD A$$ car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you thinking of restoring it? Would be nice to see it run, the biggest hurdle you will have to jump will be getting the cage passed. I would think it would be easier to cut it out and put in a new chrome moly one.
I know I know purists will give me a hard time but if the cage doesn't pass tech you won't be racing.
As far as the body goes you could probably tape off the stripes and give it a scuff and repaint, depends on what your plans are.
Just remember that if you plan on racing it you should update all the parts for safety reasons.

No offence Dorian,but cage inspection is only for cars faster than 9.99.NHRA just came back to my local track and a bunch of guys are tuning there cars to run low 10,s just to stay away from all the fee$$,physicals and such.
I hope this car gets saved and back at the track with some work.

My scanner is acting up. Sorry..these are photos OF photos. I took my car through many evolutions, many of them experimental. An easy way to see the last version is the hood scoop. A small snorkle scoop was used for a couple of years. With the huge torque of the engine, traction became a problem at some of the non-NHRA tracks. Soooo.....I moved the engine back ten inches. This required a snorkle scoop that went right up to the windshield. Hence you can tell the difference.
This is a lot of fun!
