can someone tell what type of fasteners are used to secure console to brackets with slots? console is loose don't think the fasteners are correct

Mine had Philips head screws in it. The two at the back inside the lid had a captive washer on the screw. The two at the front that go in from the side were just a regular chrome Philips head screw with a beveled head. I have no idea if that is correct or not.

ok thanks, though they might be sheet metal screws ,the ones in my console all different !! the previous owner did some scary stuff
