Is was just curious if it's pretty rare for a 68 GTS to have an inland shifter and the n85 console tach option? The little bit I found said the inland was only used on some early cars but I was curious if anyone knew the approximate number. I would like to put a hurst in it.

A console 4 speed is rare in any A-Body.
The tach option is even rarer.
The inland shifter isn't very good though, they tend to get sloppy and vague feeling fast.
Good idea to install a Hurst shifter, but the handles are hard to find.
Whatever you do, don't throw away the original inland shifter!
On another note, i've seen a lot of console 4 speeds in Mexican built A-Bodies. It seems that they are quite common in them.

I did a little research and the car was built at Hamtramck Michigan, it's also a pretty high serial number. Maybe they kept the inland"s around and on ratings days when they exhausted there guests they would throw one in lol.

Thanks a lot guys! I had no idea brewer or for that fact anyone made a hurst mechanism
For an inland handle, that seems to be a good route to keep it looking original!
