My Barracuda is the gift that keeps giving.:banghead:

I have owned the car for two years and been slowly working my way through all the bugs. This weekend is the nonfunctioning reverse lights. As I pulled them apart I found there was no socket or bulb. I have a few questions for the group:
1. Where can I get a correct 69 lens and socket for the reverse lights? Repop is okay.
2. My assembly manual states the correct bezels are a part#2930 618-9 or 2930 810-1, the bezel I have are part#2930 620, but the bezels look correct?
3. What are these strange looking lenses that are on my reverse lights?

Thanks,
Andy

Copl! Someone's added interior side lights from a fastback!
That's what the finned pices are and frosted lenses.
Creative!

There's 2 sizes of bezels depending on year and as Steve pointed out those other pieces are indeed the bezel's and lense's for the interior lights mounted on the inner C piller , good luck on the socket's I have had a hard time finding any good ones that aren't rusted , the bezels you can get repop , mine are 6 years old and holding up great except for the one I crunched but that's on me lol ! I'll look through my old parts wanted threads to see who it was that had a couple of rusty but useable sockets for ya .

PS the original lenses are glass and can also be like hens teeth to find but they are out there .

:wack:Interior lenses? It just keeps getting better and better.

I had a gut feeling the previous owner had robbed parts off of this for a friends project and put back the junk left over.
Oh well,
Thanks for the info. I'll start looking around for the sockets and lenses.

Anyone know if these interior lenses are worth anything?

Andy

Hey its not so bad, those interior lenses are hard to find, they do repo.them but I think they are like 100 bucks. U could prob sell them and put it toward finding what u need.

I wouldn't sell them if I were you , your going to need them at some point yourself , the little springy looking bits actually slide into the metal trim panel the socket is mounted to and its a twist in deal so the little springy bits are almost always broken on the ones you find . They repop the lenses but not the bezels so I would just hang on to the works if it were me .

And you need the circular gaskets that keep them steady and rattle free. As well it helps keep that ineterior bezel from moving and shorting the pink hot wire from grounding!

But these are for a fastback? I am of the notchback variety. I will probably hang on to them unless someone on here goes looking for them.

Thanks,

Andy

Notch didn't use the C pillar lights. They used overhead dome light. I might be interested depending on shape. I also have notch parts if your looking??

I went through this backup light process for my '67 Barracuda a few years ago. Started with nothing... the lights were gone and a replacement rear valance had been put in, with no holes for the lights. The wiring remained. Wound up cobbling parts from a variety of sources. Bezels you're looking for are the longer ones, I believe. I sourced mine here: http://restorationpartssource.com/store/back-up-light-bezel-set-1969-barracuda-pgc_moreinfo.html. Gasket kit including that black rubber ring I found on eBay... still looks like the seller has them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/29063750695...iewitem=&sspagename=ADME:L:OU:US:3160&vxp=mtr. Lenses I found on eBay from some indie seller. I just set up a search and got lucky. Sockets I lucked out and a 'Cuda guy my brother knows had a pair. Those show up on eBay and FABO now and again.

These cadmium plated fixture/bulb sockets didn't pass the test of time. Road salt, etc.., ate them up. I have 1 extra here. It's a bit crusty and electrical bits have been removed so I'll keep it.
I feel certain that the aftermarket is watching and reproductions will appear eventually. Meanwhile, Good hunting :)

Im actually adding the shorter 69 bezels/ reverse lights to my 68 Notch since im switching to 69 tail lights. Im in the same boat for sockets. I have bezels and Classic Industries carries the lenses. Bang head for sure. I did find that the structure behind the valance has the b.u. light holes from the factory which helps
