Love it. Get to work. from the few pictures you post, it doesn't really look all that bad. May I suggest F8 green with a white 340 callout stripe.

Starting digging into it and I guess one of the previous owners must of raced it some. Had line lock on it and a homemade looking driveshaft loop. Also the sweet air shocks

Got the motor and tranny out. Turns out it’s not the original 340, but is correct year. It sitting for couple years minus the top end and couple freeze plugs, had some some pecan hulls and dobber nest in it.
Been rebuilt at some point, still had stock pistons. Luckily nothing was stuck, rings still spin, ring lands were ok. Cam has 1186 and 930144 on it, whic best I could find it’s some kind of mopar purple cam. thoughts on how stuff looks ? first motor I’ve torn down in 15 years.

Looks a lot better than some of the stuff I have pulled apart, and it's a standard bore 1969 340. Those are very hard to find these days.

Car is definitely worth restoring. I hate when these get butchered up by some ham fisted drag racer and ya gotta unfuck them.

yep, but back when the racer did all that it was a worthless or at least cheap car to go racing with. we all have a past with cars that we wish we didn't have, especially considering the values they bring today when stock. makes me shudder to think about the value of mk1 and 2 ford escorts and cortinas i scrapped or cut up back then

I thought about changing mine to black when I got it painted, but decided to keep it the original color. I like the original colors on these cars. Keep it black imho...

Finally got the floors replaced, both fronts and driver side rear footwell First time drilling out spot welds, that was way more of a pain than I thought it was gonna be. First few went through both pieces, but eventually got it. Really wish amd would of had the whole floor pan in stock after welding too and bottom of all that

Mopar or No Car...
Good looking cars, all of them. I have a 68 FB that is sitting in my shop, not sure if I am going to build it or not, I have to do my 71 Charger and 70 RR first. Its a 318 AT PS bucket seat car. It has a crappy sun roof in it and most interesting it has 67-68 FB mustang louvers on the sail panel which I have to say don't look all that bad... If I do build it I will most likely go with a 5.7 Hemi and a A518. It just needs so much metal work, trunk floors, lower quarters, etc.

you'd think those mustang louvres grew there, they follow the lines so well. going with a restomod theme (hemi and o/d) i'd be tempted to leave them.

edit, or you could swap them for the shelby glass instead as per the gt350 hurtz cars

I agree, I like those louvers and if I build the car I will be keeping them. However I have to say that the chances are that I will be selling it bc I have 2 other cars to build, but then again if I could get into a 5.7 cheaply you never know, I really like the car. In fact, a 67-69 FB Cuda was the first model car I ever built (still have that model).

we've all been there, but as i've said before when they were cut up they were just an old car that wasn't worth much. now we cringe at what was done back then, but only because of the current values.
