69 Barracuda ***

I agree, I like those louvers and if I build the car I will be keeping them. However I have to say that the chances are that I will be selling it bc I have 2 other cars to build, but then again if I could get into a 5.7 cheaply you never know, I really like the car. In fact, a 67-69 FB Cuda was the first model car I ever built (still have that model).

those louvers look pretty good on there, fits real nice.

Well got what was left of the inner fender cut out and looks like someone did some “fixing” around the control arm mounts, great. @moparmat2000 i think I saw on one of your you replaced the top of frame rail, did you have to do control arm and shock tower also ?

That's a mess - bad.
Anything can be repaired or replaced in your case.
Just depends on your tolerance for $ pain.

Finally said the heck with it and made a top for the rail, and cut the old brackets loose and made new ones to attach back to the rail with extra bracing for the mount. Also got new inner fenders in it.

Looking good. Don't get discouraged. Sometimes it is hard to feel like you are making progress, but I really like what I am seeing.

Definitely good work and keep it up.

The best advice I can give is to keep at it, even it means restoring the steering wheel or something minor to keep your interest.

Hoosier Garage had rust in front frame rail around upper control arm mounts. He talks about how the '73 and up cars had extra metal in that area for better upper control arm support/rigidity:

Definitely had to sidetrack for a bit on the frame rail and mounts. Redid the consol, toplate was pretty pitted and definitely was paying for rechrome, so blacked it out and sprayed the surround with krylon textured black along with dmt decal. Cleaned up steering g column and cut the end of the tube almost back to the firewall and put new bearing in the end.

Just realized haven’t updated this in a year. Both rear quarters had aluminum flashing patches covering from markers down so was interesting to see how that looked behind them. Passenger side I made that patch and took way to much effort and time and came out kinda meh but it’s good enough for me. For the driver ordered goodmark skin.
