Is that clear tube coming out of the firewall by the dipstick for the A/C? It looks like bare metal around the hole. You're going to want to paint that or it will rust. A grommet might be a good idea too.
Looks good. Getting closer to driving it.....:burnout:
This Dart is bad ***!! Your attention to detail is awesome... cant wait to see it all done!
Thanks BT,it's got to be a great feeling having her sit on all fours again, I know if it were me it would be a major milestone and sense of accomplishment.
Even though I don't comment all the time I look forward to your posts every week to see what you have finished and crossed off the to do list.
Keep up the great work and attention to detail.
Are those 14" or 15" wheels? I like it that low in the front. The rear would have to come down a little though.
I may have missed this (as I haven't read the entire thread yet... I was enjoying the **** pics first) but do you intend to go with the tail stripe?
Hey Bill,
No, I am going to use the GT trim. I have it all reanodized.
BAD ***!!!!! Looks super I love that color.
Hey Darren,
They are 15" X 7". The front will most definatley have to go up, no room to turn. I was merely checking front clearance since I had lengthened the wheel wells by 2.5". Raising the front will intern make the back look lower or at least more level. If you go to my 2fine69s page you'll get an idea of what it will look like, since I have already put this combination of wheels on the car before I tore it down. The front will probably be lower with the V-8, but I now have 892/893 torsion bars in place of the six cylinder ones. The rear will also be lower once I put interior, bumpers etc. on the car.
This car is beautiful. All the fine details give me some great ideas as mine is going to be going through body restoration for the next several months. I was wondering if you are running 15"x7" wheels on all four corners and what tire combination you are going to run? I want to run 15x7's all the way around on my 69 when it is done.
Yes, they are all 15 X 7 and the tires are 225-70-15. Now having said that, I did lengthen the front and rear wheel wells by 2.5". If you go to my 2fine69s page, you'll get and idea of what it will look like with out stretching them. They will fit the stock openings, but it is super close, front and rear, and could cause a serious problem on the front especially. Hope this helps.
Sorry to jump into your conversation but....
Its the tire diameter and width that is a concern- not necessarily the rim diameter. Rim offset would be an equal concern to tire diameter.
If you are hitting the front fender edge- then you have too much tire diameter. If you are rubbing the inner fender at full lock- then you have either too wide a tire or too much back set.
