I`m helping Fishman put a 408 stroker (360 based) motor in his 69 Barracuda. As you guys know the water pump/timing cover changes for the 70`s cars along with the power steering pump and brackets. The engine we`ve installed is a 74 360, and it`s replaced the original 69 318. The problem we`ve encountered is with the new water pump (that opens to the right side, not the left as the original did) the ears that would normally create a mounting point for the power steering pump are not there. The 69 and earlier pumps open on the left side and have a boss for mounting the steering pump. This new pump doesn`t have the boss. We`re trying to use the 69 steering pump with the later 70`s up water pump. Has anybody got any advice here, is there another bracket that`s available that will fit that steering pump to the newer water pump? Thanks.

Swap the timing cover and water pump from the '69. That will give you the passenger side outlet and the correct bosses.

Longgone, have you resolved your PS bracket issue? I have a similair issue trying to use a 67 273 TRW pump and bracket on a 68 318 with an after market aluminum water pump.
