Hi,
I have a 7 1/4 rear end in my 1971 Scamp. I plan on putting a 8.75 rear in it (which I have) but that is being saved for the larger picture. In the short term, I'd like to make the 7.25 a BBP, currently it's a SBP. Would BBP axles from a 73-76 fit or will they be short? Or will my center section fit the 73-76 ok?

Thanks FABO

Depends, they could be either 9 or 10 inch.
The end of the axle housing is different between the SBP and the LBP 7 1/4 rears. The axles and axle bearings are different. SBP have 4 bolts holding the backing plate and axle bearing flange to the housing. LBP have 5 bolts holding things together.
Why not use the LBP 7 1/4 rear, it will bolt right in. Other option is to drill the SBP axles and drums for LBP.
