I Live in pierce co Washington in Orting, bought a 73 Dart and it had a welded diff. I broke an axle and went and bought a used rear axle to just swap the whole thing out, turns out the carrier is cracked in the used one I bought. Hoping someone local might have some parts they want to get rid of. Thanks!
 
cracked? Weld it. Cheaper than another unless someone is giving one away in your town., where is it cracked?
 
The differential case completely across where the shaft goes through. I would try but don't have a welder at the moment.
