ok, i am going to be putting a 7 1/4 sure-grip unit into my 69 valiant. the unit looks to be of 66 vintage. what steps/parts/fluids do you guys recomend? i am pretty sure there are no longer rebuild kits for the suregrip. i do see some parts for the 7 1/4 axle though. my plan was to clean it up, bolt on my ring gear, use same washers that came from my original setup, and slide it in,reinstal axles...n burn 2 tires instead of one......i know, no slicks, no 4-500hp motors...input would be greatly appreciated.....

If it hasn't been gone through yet you're going to want to review this sticky written by one of our illustrious tech gurus. I run 75/90 in my 7.25 with no issues. If you need part numbers for seals or bearings just ask. Also pictures always make for a more interesting read.

Good luck
