Trying to replace the lower ball joints on the 71 valiant and the parts store seems to be struggling to get the correct part. The ones they sent they are calling for a 70-72 disc brake car, but the holes that bolt it to the spindle are 1/2" and not 9/16" the end tips up like 30 degrees and to the side not coming out more flat and straight on the shaft that bolts to the tie rod end. I'll get some pics here shortly. Thanks.

So looking at the one we removed from the car (the one with the tie rod still attached) its definitely not angled upright or off to the side slightly. So if I can find one that specifies that it's for a disc brake car, should I expect that it will be angled up and over? The ones we ordered call for it to be on a disc brake car, but clearly aren't as they have the 1/2" bolt and to me are shorter arms, overly angled. Anyone know any 70-72 part brand and numbers that they have used with success? I am reluctant to buy from rock auto as in the past parts are often not correct and returning the parts is not always easy with them. Gotten lots of wrong head bolts, pistons, etc from them.

Just use RockAuto for the part numbers. You can take that number to any parts store and tell them to look it up by Manifacture and part number.

Here ya go on the Delphi, wait AC delco. the search is the only good thing about rock auto. Sometimes pricing also...

I'll check out the moog numbers on rock auto. My son is working at oreillys right now as a parts delivery driver. He was checking out their website and noticed the ones that they have listed for the 70-72 disc brakes look like the 73 and up cars and the pic they have listed for the 73 and cars look like the 70-72 cars. Which they say they have in stock so he's going to take his old part in and see if it matches what they are calling the 73. I am thinking that maybe the parts got entered wrong on their website catalog. Crazier things have happened.

Perfect, thanks for the part numbers. Fingers crossed we can get the right parts for it. Got the built 727 mounted up, engine is fully rebuilt, putting in the new firm feel steering box in then fitting the engine back in. Finally getting it back on the road for summer.

Maybe we’ll see you out at Rod Run in Long Beach the end of summer...

That would be fun time for sure. We're hoping to be ready to make a few passes at the mopar nationals at our local dragstrip this summer.

I might bring my Duster down for the Nats. Woodburn is not far away...
Definitely let me know, I am hoping to bring my big block duster along with the valiant. Might try to bring our 4 door 72 valiant as well, its a bone stock all original slant six car. But runs and drives good.

Nice. We’ll see what happens for the Nats. Last year for Rod Run we had about 10 Mopar’s in our crew, mostly A bodies... looks like for same plus a few new ones this year..
