OK.........is this something you have found? Come on now, a pic is just a tease. What's the story here?!

Looking through some old photos, I found a picture of what I think is a 71 340 swinger special. The photo was taken in the late 80's at the second annual Southey Mopar Muscle Meet. I would assume it was a Crestview car as Southey, Saskatchewan is 50km from the Crestview dealership. Looks to have fresh paint. Any of the Swinger Special guys know where this car is now?

No but an old lady sold one from under me for 500. Someone bought it the same day before I got it off work. Said she was going to hold it for me. When I called to let her know I was coming by to get it, she said oh dear, I'm so sorry, I thought you came by right after you called to pick it up with a trailer. That was a green one Modesto CA. Was on sale in the paper 3 weeks later for 15,000. Same car

my 71 dart is a swinger special
what does the "special" really mean? stripped down version/basic?

Looks like this one Rod, met the fellow a couple of years ago at Red Deer and the Crosstown shows. I believe he and the car are still in Saskatchewan, and yep it's a Crestview Chrysler car. Cliff Guinand might confirm it's the same car.

BAM. You nailed it 340duster.
Yup, the first of the 25 Crestview (Regina, Saskatchewan) Swinger 340 Specials off the line for '71. It was owned in the early 80's and into the '90's by Southey Motors, who had got it off of Crestveiw who had it in their 'do not sell' coral. So until it was sold to Wayne from southern Manitoba, it was always a 'dealership' car. And Danny (Swinger340Canuc), to confirm, those are the pics of the car as it looks today. And as you might've guessed, this is an original surviour (and that's why 340duster thought it was fresh paint) and is one of the 16 of the 25 know to be alive. So Danny, you met Wayne, eh? Did you know he originally had a C7 '71 Swinger 340 Special Crosstown car, that unfortunately met it's demise on a country road down in Southern Manitoba. That's why he pulled the trigger in the mid '90's on this one - a sort of replacement. Thanks for the initial post 340duster, glad you snapped a pic of it back in the day. Cg
