71 360 Demon New Personal Best

Got a brand new shinny driveshaft to put in car tomorrow...light weight too.......

Got the valves adjusted this evening...dam..they were all loose.......friday night is coming fast....

Suppose to rain this weekend....imagine that....high of 84 with thunderstorms
 
new driveshaft is 7 lbs lighter then old drivershaft....and never got to run friday night due to problems with Dart and thunderstorms...
 
well....last time I ran the car sucks with that heavy drivershaft ....11.07 in heat....today 10.91 in warm air but very humid for vegas and a barometer of 27.80..... da-4500+

Doing it again in the morning.......did my usual 3rd round redlight....and the other guy had a lousy light .....dont redlight...dont relight....redlight

Well...had to get a new set of belts for the car....and I believe my helmet has expired. April 22 is next race...want to get it running before MATS......gotta get this on the schedule...LOL
 
Had not raced the Demon since last Nov at the bracket finals....needed to get it out and shake the bugs out before MATS, actually driver had more bugs then the car.....Looked good on the 1st pass....RT .009 10.900 @ 120........next pass...brain fade..Left on 1st amber...10.87 @ 121.....1st round I race my Stocker buddy from around the corner...Red light -.017....ran 10.886 on 10.89 dial in...

That sublime green looks yellow in the picture.

These are bracket racing cars....fiberglass hoods...bumpers..trunk lids.....ladder bars with coil over shock....one seat ....no heater..no wipers..aluminum heads...aluminum master cylinder...aluminum radiator.....no exhaust except for headers...light weight wheels...and light weight strange disc brakes...basic wiring only...

Has the car been cut up? What does the Duster weight? I'm hoping my Duster ends up at 3000 lb with me 3200. Real close to E or F. How much Hp do you think for that 360?
 
all 3 cars weight around 2750 lbs with no driver.....but the weight of the drivers varies...LoL
 
Wow...been awhile since the Demon was out to play.....tires were very low ....covered in Dust even in trailer...fuel pump moaned and groaned back to life....squired some raw gas in carb.....bang it fires..put a new set of plugs in it.....the old ones looked new...lol......washed it up.....put it back in the trailer for tomorrow......

Where is the races tommorow? Post some results.
 
TnT in vegas....Saturday and Sunday......taking two cars out...Dart and Demon...duster burned the shifter cable....
 
That's three nice looking cars you've got there. I've just bought another Duster with a 360. I've always liked A bodies better than B's and E's

made 3 runs today with the 1st being the best as the head wind kick up.....Demon in left lane and Dart in right lane.....tried to get a big lead but she drove around me....

Driver of Demon need to think on how to do a burn out....plus the car kept dying....but ran fine at wide open throttle....after that one run everything worked fine...

Poor old Demon is now the slowest of the three....need to see what i got laying around to whip those kids....

this 360 is a good 10 yrs old.....anyway....it is in trailer ready to head out to Mats....
 
I think the UPS man just dropped off what I need......two shinning new heads from Summit...

.397 first run , .037 second run . no traction what so ever , legs hurting , went home ----------aint been back since ! LOL

Well...2 yrs ago went i put the Dana 60 in the Demon i did not do a good job of getting the ladder bars parallel.....the car does go straight...and running consisted with consist 60 ft times.
I put the car up on the lift today to change oil...and walking under the car looking at stuff.....man...my rear end is all out of shape....I could not believe how bad it is....the rear coil over shocks look like the leaning tower of Pisa...

I was going to go to Top Gun Raceway next weekend and race ....but not in this car....

Going to have to remove rear ....cut brackets off....and redo it all again....
 
i think i will ask my youngest daughter if i can use her car........lol
