'71 Dart GT experts HELP!!

Hey all,

Was there a factory 4-bbl equipped 318 with the A904 transmission for the '71 Dart GTs (Swinger)?

It is my understanding, a 2-bbl equipped 318 with the A904 transmission was the only V-8 with automatic transmission option.

Yep, 318 was the only V8. It could have come with either the 904 or 727, depending on what options it was ordered with....tow package, etc.

Most came with the 904.

Not in the US/Canadian market until the M-body cop cars of the 1980s.

None of the '70-'71 Dart GT's came with any performance Engines.
And your choice on tranny's was 904 or 727 in 1970 and the same plus 3 speed Manual Floor Shifted was added for the 1971 318's
Slant Six or 318 2 BBL only both years.
However, the 1970 Dart GTS's from Chrysler de Mexico came with 318 4 bbl 4 speeds only.

The first LA318 4bbl. (in the U.S. market) was an option starting in 1978 in most models including pickups and vans.
