How can I tell if my car is a GT. I have a 71 that has 61,000 miles and is a 318 with an original white bucket interior. Just curious. If I did'nt know better I would swear it was a 340 car.

If the VIN doesnt have an H in it, it's not a 340 car. That said doesn't mean someone couldn't have put a 340 in it. My Duster came with a /6 but now a 340.

Are 340 cars the only ones considered GT's ?

A GT/Custom had 340 Swinger interior, but no 340. Just /6 and 318.

A65 on the fender tag denotes the GT package, and as far as I've learned they were either the /6 or the 318 V-8.
