That is a great car, How far do you go with the "correct" and "restoration" is up to the person who owns the car, and who may buy it.
Shouldn't this be in the general discussion area if we're gonna pick on it?
Personal pet peeve: "Professional Restoration" with nasty original wiring.
I won't go into the "correct 340/275hp" engine. I want that factory single plane and double pumper for my Valiant restoration.
I believe that a lot of cars are advertised as being correctly restored
but the real truth is...... very few are.
The problem is most people (owners) don't do their homework and research
things fully. They just go by word of mouth which most times are
wrong and not accurate.
I have a 1971 Demon 340 clone. It's not perfect for sure but I don't
claim it to be.

Steve: On my Demon I went with the chrome bezels because
I like the way it looked compared to the black bezels. I too have seen
it both ways. I believe on the 340 cars they should be black from the factory.
I'm not sure though. I just like them chrome.
The black out hood is (painted) not a decal and it is flat black.
I altered my hood blackout pattern, it's contour near the front of the hood
is not factory correct but I think it works so that is why it was painted that
way. Not many people notice the slight variation so it must look okay.

Yes the variation is the outside leading edge. Picture of correct
contour and mine in comparison.
I like the yellow showing through the grille...I know it's incorrect.
