Ok here’s my problem. I need 71 Duster bucket seats. What I thought was 70 bucket seat frames, I now find out I have 72 Duster seats which was a one year only where the back parts of the bucket seats have the springs molded into the foam. I got that info from Ron at Legendary Upholster and he told me no one is making new seat foam for 72 buckets. So Im now searching for 71 Bucket seats. Used is ok but I see them new too n if I have to bite the bullet I’ll buy new. Anyone ever buy new 71 frames or any leads on used ?
Thanks

The only thing is I need to buy 71 frames first before I sell the 72 frames.
Ck out legendary upholstery cause no new foam padding is being made for 72 frames n once the old 50 plus year old foam goes bad n starts to flatten out. Well then you’re stuck with getting an upholstery shop rebuild them.

That is what I have read too. I wish I knew if it were possible to use a 72 seat cover on a different year foam/frame. In the end, I just want the correct cover on a bucket seat. Assuming that is what you are after as well? correct 71 seat cover

Any chance a 70 seat foam will work ?
From my experience, 70-72 bucket seats were very close
in structure. 73 is when there was a change.

Call Legendary Upholstery. I talked to Ron n he’ll know the answer to your question

Yes they look the same. But the differences are 70-71 have springs on the bottom n seat back. The 72 was the odd year that Mopar had the springs embedded in the foam on the seat back. And no one has that seat back foam new

Very good. The 70 seat is actually a 1 year only seat as well.
I remember running into the same issue as you with 73 seats.
Legendary is pretty Sharp, hopefully they will be able to help you with your needs.

Thanks. I’m on a mission to get my 71 Duster right the first time. I hate doing stuff over

Here is a set of 71 Demon seats. Its a longshot. They are in Winnipeg so shipping would be expensive. They are $800 Cdn / $600USD. I was thinking about buying them because I need the seat tracks and hinge covers but it was too steep for me.

I just called Ron at Legendary n he told me I need 71 Duster Back seat frames. He says only 71 will do n have the springs attached to the frame, but he said my seats don’t look bad n they can be repaired. I’m seeing a few 71 buckets for sale n the price is getting to be a lot more than I want.
See attached pics of my 72 buckets n Ron says they can be fixed up.
So if anyone has seats in the same condition as I do then yours too are repairable .

Pay no attention to them guys Crocks shoes lol but they have saved my toes many times working in and around the garage n yard n they don’t mind the water.

Well I’ve googled n searched for hours. Looks like used 71 Duster bucket seat are expensive n not many left that anyone wants to sell. Only pair I saw was $800 n they were covered n I couldn’t see how good the frames were. So I might as well use my 72 seats n have them reupholstered. I’m going to use the correct coachman grain material n use black perforated carbon fiber inserts. Carbon fiber to match my Rally Dash n Center Console. I bought new overlays for my Rally Dash n Console from DMT Detroit Muscle Technology’s

70-71 seats has the springs attached to the frame so 70 foam on a 72 won’t work as 72 foam has the springs molded into the foam
So when I take the old foam off my 72 seats you’ll see bottom spring but no back spring like on the bottom
