Thanks..! This "tunnel" looks different to me...are 4spd humps different from 3spd..?

100% agreed.
It is a stop to prevent the seat from going too far forward so it won't interfere with the throw of the shifter.
BTW, bucket seat cars don't need this bracket, but I have seen them on bucket seat cars.
It might be that the person welding them on at the factory was instructed to do so with all of them just in case it needed it.

My original 69 GTS 383 4-speed bucket seats and console car still has the bench seat stop on it from the factory.
